CHOMPING AT THE BIT PRODUCTIONS
The shows you want to see after a 45-hour week.
We make shows for people who’ve spent the week dealing with deadlines, toddlers, weird bosses, crowded gyms, and that one coworker who still replies all.
We’re here to entertain. Full stop. We don’t do preachy. We assume you already have a moral compass and didn’t come to the theater to be reminded how to use it. We don’t do polite golf claps. We do goosebumps, belly laughs, audible gasps, sexy smirks, shock, and that post-show moment where you turn to your friend and say, “Damn. That was good.”
Inclusivity and equity? Non-negotiable. But our guiding star is joy, energy, catharsis, escapism, and stories that remind you why live theater is still the most electric thing happening on a Saturday night.
We’re here to make you feel everything…except bored.
Welcome. Let’s blow the roof off.
MISSION STATEMENT: Chomping at the Bit is committed to redefining accessibility in New York City theater by delivering wildly entertaining plays and musicals at refreshingly affordable prices. We reject the notion that low-cost theater must be dreary, preachy, or pedestrian. Instead, we spotlight dynamic performances, scrumptious new writing, captivating music, and riveting dancing - prioritizing artistry and astounding performances over spectacle. By stripping away the excess, we create room for what truly matters: the thrill of great storytelling shared with a broad and diverse audience at prices that won’t break anyone’s bank.
Our work extends beyond the stage. We actively partner with local schools, community centers, and underrepresented groups to provide educational programming, discounted performances, and participatory workshops. By fostering inclusive spaces for both artists and audiences, we aim to democratize theater and ensure that meaningful storytelling is available to all - regardless of income, background, or experience.
